Morocco comes to Blackpool with the opening of La Marokina on Bond Street Tagines, couscous and brochettes all feature along with Moroccan wines and beer
Chris Evans says

Was trying to work out if I’d ever eaten traditional Moroccan food before as I prepared to visit La Marokina and I came to the conclusion I probably hadn’t, or if I had I couldn’t remember. The new Moroccan restaurant is situated on Bond Street in an area of South Shore with heritage for great restaurants and to see this sort of investment in the current climate is really encouraging. The venue is the brain child of Abdellatif Legdani who many will remember as the former front man of Joya in St.Annes and his keen eye to detail is apparent within his new creation as the rustic colour scheme makes for a warm and welcoming surround. The menu has wisely been condensed to offer variety and simplicity and Abs is also available to guide you through the dishes to make sure it meets your expectations. I decided to opt for the Chicken Livers sauted with onions and chillies to start and the kebda dish was one of the best starters I’ve experienced this year, moist juicy livers with crisps onions and fiery chillies. To follow I selected chicken brochettes which came marinated in a medley of Moroccan spices, the succulent skewed chunks were served on a bed of rice and accompanied by traditional dips. I was also presented with a bowl of patata frites (clearly they decided I look like a fan) and the salt chunky chips completed a fantastic main course. The restaurant is a true destination venue that I’m convinced will grow into a popular addition to many peoples dining circuit. You’ll not be disappointed with the setting, service and sensational food.
